🦷 Daily Care Routine for Acrylic Dentures

1. Rinse After Eating

  • Remove and rinse dentures under running water to remove food particles and debris.
  • Be gentle — don’t bend or use excessive force

2. Brush Daily

  • Use a soft-bristled denture brush
  • Clean all surfaces with mild, non-abrasive denture cleaner DO NOT USE REGULAR toothpaste, as it can be too abrasive for acrylic.
  • Avoid hot water, which can warp the dentures.
  • Modern Acrlylic Dentures DO NOT need to be kept in water.
    • Once clean, dry and place in the Denture storage container

⚠️ What to Avoid

  • Harsh toothpaste (abrasive and may scratch the acrylic).
  • Bleach or whitening products (can damage and discolor).
  • Boiling water or high heat (will warp acrylic).
  • Wearing dentures 24/7 — let your gums and teeth rest at night
  • DO NOT Attempt to glue dentures together your self!

👄 Oral Hygiene Tips

  • Clean your gums, tongue, and any remaining natural teeth with a soft toothbrush with the denture OUT of your mouth
  • Rinse your mouth before reinserting dentures.
  • If using adhesives, remove the old adhesive daily and clean your gums thoroughly.
