Eligibility Criteria | Dentist DVA Central Coast Smiles
To qualify for DVA dental services at Central Coast Smiles, you need to have an assessed clinical need and hold one of the following:
- Veteran Gold Card: Covering all clinically necessary dental treatments including check-ups, fillings, crowns, dentures, root canals, gum treatments and orthodontics for dependents.
- Veteran White Card: Covering treatments specifically related to service-connected dental injuries or conditions accepted by the DVA.
What Dental Services Are Covered?
Our experienced team provides a full spectrum of dental care under the DVA scheme, including:
- Routine examinations and cleanings to prevent dental issues
- Treatment of dental injuries or conditions related to service
- Restorative procedures such as fillings and crowns
- Custom dentures with re-lining every two years and replacements as needed
- Advanced treatments including root canal therapy and periodontal care
Cost and Annual Limits
Most treatments under the DVA scheme are free, with no out-of-pocket expenses. However, for high-cost procedures like bridges and crowns, an annual monetary limit (AML) of $2,643.25 applies. Certain exemptions apply, such as treatment for:
- Ex-prisoners of war (POW)
- Accepted service-related injuries or conditions
- Cancer affecting teeth or jaws
